Nothing But More Than Being HAPPY Today!

As I always tell myself, HAPPINESS is the result of how you think about the world and your place in it.

Today, there isn't any special occasion or someone special that makes me happy. I don't think happiness is based on how stable your status in a day. It's more on inner feeling that you can't explain exactly. And that's how I feel tonight, I mean today.

I had my usual morning - woke up early, work, breakfast, go home blah blah blah. Evening time really rocks a lot. You know why? Because earlier I had a Jollibee Spicy Chicken dinner with Ate Lai, signed a new contract, fine class with my students and most especially I had tweeting time with jophelyn, black_crism, sweetsakura07 and mcoldblood. 

Small and silly things about giving and graving but more than that, the deepest thought about "Giving" is what it counts a lot. I was inspired to buy Peach Mango Pie and shared it to some people. Later on, I was inspired again to give my Lemon Square Cheese Cupcake to someone. I was happy. When I tried to examine myself why I was really that happy, I remember about how the Lord will bless the cheerful giver. When I gave those foods earlier, I didn't think about the return but the inspiration pushed me to do so. I paused for a moment and gave thanks and glorify the Lord because He taught me to give and He inspired me. Then, I realized, He made me happy tonight. Until now, while blogging this, the inspiration is still in me. Praise God! 

God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7 

When God loves, He also blesses. Lastly, my prayer for tonight is that, may the Lord bless and inspire those people I work with everyday. May they continue to light their hearts in giving without expecting in returns yet trusting You Lord above all. And may You answer all their heart's desires. Amen.

National Ful Run for Education!

"Every runner, a Finisher; Every finisher, a Winner"

Early Sunday morning, June 19 @ 5am. Waking up so fresh, as if I slept early the night before. I supposedly head to mass but Saturday night I found out that there will be a Fun Run for Education. Knowing it made me so excited, as in super excited.

I feel envious to those people I see on the street early in the morning sweating already. So, after the fun run last Sunday, I found myself making some plans to insert running in my routines everyday. I thought also of buying sports apparel such as the running shoes and clothes. It requires money and I must say, quite some big. I need to save up. I believe in God's will and time. Hehehe I wish I can achieve this!

SUNDAY FUN RUN! I was with Ven-Ven and Kuya Danny, I forced them to join me. Though unprepared physically I still had the urge and fire to run. Hahaha. Meeting lots of friends, did some chit-chats and took lots of pictures were the affairs I did while waiting for the time.  I was really happy seeing numerous of people who participated in this activity. Adults to children. Singles to married. Alone or being with someone. Not considering the age. Not thinking about how long it will be. Not anticipating the muscle and body pains after. However, while the program was on going, doing some stretching and some stuffs reminders, the distance was just 2 kilometers. I said to myself, Oh! Okay. 2 kilometers. Hahaha feeler!

While I was enjoying the road, I came to a point that people are running for life as well. I mean, to be healthy. They do exercise because they know that it will make them fit as a fiddle which I think is good. You know, thinking about ourselves and our health are the few important things in the world.

12 Ways to Glorify God at Work

1. Believe that all legitimate work is holy or unholy before God based on our faith, not the nature of the work itself.

But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin (Romans 14:23).

2. Be just and honest in all your dealings with money.

A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is his delight (Proverbs 11:1)

3. Be prayerfully dependent upon God, pouring contempt on self-sufficiency.

Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain (Psalms 127:1).

4. Use the wages earned by your work to provide for and bless others.

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever (1Timothy 5:8).
Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need (Ephesians 4:28).

5. Grow in your skill-set, work hard, and strive for excellence.

Do you see a man skillful in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men (Proverbs 22:29).
In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty (Proverbs 14:23).
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).

6. Exemplify love for your neighbor in how you interact with your colleagues.

Let all that you do be done in love (1 Corinthians 16:14).

7. Plan ahead and sincerely preface future tasks with “if God wills.”

Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house (Proverbs 24:27).
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that” (James 4:13-15)

8. Speak the gospel to your colleagues.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:20).

9. Work as unto the Lord and as unto men.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:23-24).
Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust (1 Peter 2:18 ).

10. Focus on the work you’ve been given.

Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty (Proverbs 28:19).

11. Speak words of grace.

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear (Ephesians 4:29)

12. Rest in your justification by faith alone in Christ alone.

yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified (Galatians 2:16).

I have come to a point of asking myself on how am I going to spend my spare time in the office since some instances my student won't give advance notice that they won't be able to attend the class. So heres what came to me. As I was thinking about how to honor the Lord in using my freetime, the website of OMF Literature arrived at me with 12 Ways to Glorify God at Work. I was really blessed and realized that the next time I'll will have some freetime, I will spend it by reading good books, good articles or writing something about how the Lord works over my life especially at work. To be a witness of how He is faithful and loving with all His children.

 

Knowing Men

Hale yeah MALE species! Their psyche is complex too and sometimes hard to fathom. They may be good in conditioning their cars but you may find them stuck in operating washing machines. They have needs, wants, likes, dislikes and dreams. I am not an expert in this agenda nor a psychologist who studies mental characteristics of a person to give you the exact informations about them but based on my experiences and encounters with the different men in my life, then I came to realized all these things.

1. Men need women.

Vice-versa. We both need each other. If you could imagine a movie, behind those wars, soldiers, superheroes and leading men are women. I guess, the movie isn't called nice and successful if there isn't any woman that inspires a man.

2. Men want to be respected.

I've learned that the primary need of men is Respect. When you let them choose between being alone or in a burst argument with their girlfriend, don't be dumbfounded when they choose to be alone. In an argument, men usually feel like they are being deprived of their respect. So, the next time you will be in this scenario, think about this six-letter word RESPECT.

3. Men want to know if you like what they like.

Imagine a situation wherein you both watch a basketball game, the crowd is screaming all the way and your boyfriend shows his support and cheers to his favorite team but at the end of the game if he's going to ask how was it, you will answer, "I was bored", "I got tired watching it." How do you think he will feel? Tell him straight if you are interested in his interest. 

4. Men need to be praised.

No matter what kind of job or hobbies he is into, praise him. Never be stingy with your praises. Even if you don't like what they wear or their haircut or their smell, or even those simple things they do for you always find some good ways to recognize them. Never put them down immediately. You can always try to praise the bad ones and give more praise to the good ones. In that way, men I think will realize the difference. Yet you give praises both.

5. Men need to be understood.

Understanding is the key word here. All they want from us - women, is to understand all their endeavors. Whether in the areas of sports, jobs, relationships, hobbies and interests. Understand them and they will admire you more in this arena. Promise! Hehe

6. Men want to be heard too.

Men are good listeners but unrecognized sometimes. Yet, they also want to be heard. It requires your full attention so be ready and set aside your concerns for awhile. When they talk about serious matters, listen to them. Sometimes, all they want is to voice out those hidden feelings, confusions or problems in their heart and the best thing you can do for them is - LISTEN and be with them at that specific time.

7. Men need support.

Men are inspired to work hard when they know that you are supporting them. It might be unheard but let it show through your actions like prepare their things, clothes, foods, even the water for bath and encouragement them everyday about their task at work.

8. Men are detailed.

Of all the numbers, I think, this area is hard to explain for me since I had few encounters of men who are detailed person when it comes to work and responsibility. When they say something, they really mean it. Never doubt or question them many times. They won't waste or spend time to puzzle you up. It is also like, be exact also on you words for them.

9. Men want to be nourished.

Wow! This is very common. "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." So, nourishing them with foods is a good way to win his affection. Hehehe Of course, they want to be taking cared of... very well.

10. Men want love.

Love is women's primary need and men want it. That includes everything as in EVERYTHING. 

Men are needy. They want to be loved, cared and nurtured.



They pay attention on how we address to them our needs, our concerns, our feelings etc. etc. etc. We have to let them explore the world. They want their freedom to do so. Let them be the MAN they suppose to be.

Rain's Essence

It's raining cats and dogs, dinosaurs and elephants, spiders and tarantulas today!

Many people don't like the inconvenience it brings due to the fact that they can't do their chores and task easily. Nevertheless, the twist of the heavy rain imparts beauty and pleasure to others. Rain as we all know, is a liquid precipitation that requires a thick layer of atmosphere to have a temperature above the melting point of water near and above the Earth's surface. It is the condensation of atmospheric water vapor into drops of water heavy enough to fall. The clouds are included in this process.

For children rain is a form of fun, another way of having time with their friends, playing those puddles, running on the streets, making the rainwater as a shower that pass thru the roof's surface down or maybe a hole something. Can you imagine the fun and the innocence that the children portray on their faces? I always remember my childhood memories when it rains. Having those memories in the rain makes me wanna play with the children on the street even if I'm an adult already. I simply missed the fun and the puddles where I usually jumped into despite the dirt I know it has.

On the other hand, there are parents who don't allow their children to bathe under the rain. They are concern about the sickness their child might get after. Of course, I understand that. But the joy in the eyes of a child, counts a lot for me.  Yet, parents are parents and children follow them. So, okay, let's not tackle further about that. I'm not yet a parent anyway. Hehehe

There can also be lots of wonderful moments under the rain. Let's site some example, a couple - a boyfriend or girlfriend perhaps. Can you imagine what's in my mind now while having this example? Yeah right. Holding hands. The man carries the umbrella to protect the woman or while carrying the umbrella, the man's palm is on the woman's shoulder. Get the picture? Their bodies are slightly close to each other walking under the rain. It's like a scene in the movie with matching some music. Isn't it sweet and romantic?

Another thing, people on the street are running or walk too fast keeping themselves from the rain. Sometimes the place is quite because everyone is sleeping. The coldness of the temperature tempts the people to go to bed, cover themselves with their blankets and close their eyes for an extreme moment of rest. Wow!

Group of friends have their "tambay time". Talking, eating some chips, music, playing cards etc. are few of the means to entertain each other. House owners who have plants outside are happy because they don't need to water their plants the next day or perhaps the farmers. There are numerous things to enjoy when it's raining. Take a look at it first. 

Personally let's get some serious thing now, rain in one way or the other represents tears, trials and pains. When we shed tears it means there is something our hearts that we can't say. Our feelings of disappointment are hidden with the liquid that our eyes produce. It cleanes the eyes - yes! But the fact that we cry, something is heavy. Even so, we have to remember that in every rain there is s always rainbow. A rainbow that represents God's love and compassion. A rainbow that sends another way out for us to start again. A rainbow that reminds us to stand still and courageous now matter how many times we fall. A rainbow that forgives us.

Therefore, let's not worry about our lives, whatever kind of rains we have, always see the good side in it. Better yet, it contributes life's beauty and pleasure. Better yet, it adds colors and texture in life more. And better yet, it makes us appreciate and realize how wonderful life is.

On the other hand, we can also have rain of blessings. That means, the Lord pour down His blessings without measure.

Obedience

The facets of life change everyday. From simple to complex, from highest to lowest, from failures to success as to pains to happiness. Oh well, life is full of different surprises. Composing this blog is merely for the idea of reminding myself on things I need to look closely. Uhm. Let's start.

For the past few weeks, I've been eating different kinds of foods. No refusal if somebody offers hahaha. Because of that, I gained weight. My tummy is kinda bulging. Ops! No exercise. No diets. Just eat! Well, the pleasure of eating is basically the most enjoyable thing to do as human.

Hence, my stomach is calling for an immediate attention already, Now, I'm on my verge to discipline myself not just for foods but for some aspects of my life also. I started to warm-up mundane concentrating on my abdominal part. It was hard at first, but my goal to lessen the fats in it is more important than the tiredness and pains I will get after.

Next, the discipline to OBEY more than following my wants. This is harder than doing warm-ups everyday. Since, I'll be dealing myself and refusing my desires. The hardest is, saying NO to my YES.

I have many things to obey. From personal life to life with others. Make sense??? Doing all these things, make me a better person, I know. Thus, I believe in following the Lord wants than my wants. Obeying His NO to my YES. It was painful at first because I wasn't able to undestand Him. Later on, I realized, it was and is good for me. I need to follow His leading. I might not know where this leading will bring me, however I'm sure enough something is better ahead of this.

At first, I was disobedient to His will and I noticed the same situation over and over again, with the feeling I wasn't able to bare at the end. Guilt to frustration to conviction to unforgiveness to fears. Those feelings I kept within myself. Until one day, I told myself to have a firm decision. To make a choice and stand it. After all, I'm the only who will decide what kind of life I'm going to live. And now, here I am, blogging this to remind myself of the things I am disciplining about. Surely, I will lose some remarkable people. I need to. Yet, this is for the betterment of the situation.

I am holding to God's promise that "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do and He will show you His ways. Proverbs 3: 5-6" I know someday, in His time, things will be in order.

Well, obviously, it’s my love - foods! In buffet eating set-up, I usually get the foods that I can eat all - as in ALL no leftovers as much as possible (Do you know why? Because a lot of people this time who hardy can’t eat or who work hard and sweat a lot before they can buy foods…. That’s it! So don’t waste foods, okay?hehe) aside from those boney thing and spices that I don’t eat hehe. But in this photo, the right plate with foods weren’t mine of course. Omg! I can’t eat it all just the left plate with foods and some yummy and fresh desserts. I’m definitely a rice-eater person. Common let’s dig in! hahaha

Some watermelon, lettuce and dip, buko pandan, mango, some rice, pork, fish, and canton. All these foods were not mine. I just took a picture including the other ones plate. Hehe

There I was! Hahahahaha
Crab soup, 3 squid balls, little pork as in little, chicken and some rice. Desserts were potato salad, pineapple but you can't see it:D, and melon juice.

One Morning

Since the very first time I was hospitalized because I took for granted the basic needs of my body, I became a health-buff individual. In the workplace, I make sure I able to eat my breakfast not too heavy and not fatty. Usually, I have oats and milk first because my work starts at 5am later on I have the full-meal. I don't eat snacks or in-between meals but I drink water a lot. I may not exercise regulary but I make to a point that my foods are good enough for me. So, one morning while at work...

My favorite biscuit Nissin Butter Coconut since I was young like 5-6 years old (my mother used to bring this at home) and I have some milk. Sometimes, if I get the chance to buy some vegetables on the weekend, expect that my Monday's breakfast is a sandwich.

One time when I visited one of my closest friends, she gave me this one box of Greenwich pizza and since I was full at that night, I reserved it and ate the next day and I didn't eat the full-meal afterwards. Hehe

 If it's not hot and powdered milk, I usually have this.


Every foods I eat everyday, I make sure I able to eat more veggies. Quality is more important than quantity for me in terms of foods. Be healthy everyone

What is this for today???

After watching the movie Pretty Woman my mind rolled up with hundreds of thoughts that I didn’t exactly know what to do. So, I thought of writing it all. Let me start this way - with the picture, uhm it’s something that inspires me today. I actually see this couple (I mean, not the exact picture haha) everyday when I pass on a certain street to buy foods for breakfast. They’re very sweet and adorable to look at. The man usually carries the bag and holds the hand of the woman and that says a lot - everything. I feel the security of their relationship. So nice. Wonderful. It makes me feel of wanting it, of course - someday! You know, somebody who will hold your hand and make you feel very special and beautiful. Somebody who will open the door and let you come in first. Somebody who will held up the chair before him and make sure that you sit comfortably. Somebody who will stir up you mind with good thoughts. Somebody who will warn and remind you that; “Hey! Careful, the floor is wet”. And somebody who will not ashame of you being in a public place and hug you saying; “I love you and you complete me… I want more of you…I want to be with you for the rest of my life”. Isn’t it amazing to find someone who will treat you like this? Or Is it impossible to have all these? I got a deep breathe. Well, the answer is, I don’t know. However, one thing I am so sure, that the Lord reserve a person for every individual that we deserve to have. Let’s just patiently wait, faithfully and start claiming it.

I Pray

Lord, I know that there are many things to be grateful for. Like, You wake me up early every morning, I get to work, I get to eat, breathe, smell, see the beauty of the world, my family, friends and so on...

However, my heart this afternoon Lord is in the downside. I pray that You will take out this feeling of jealousy, bitterness, hatred, unforgiving and this evil sipirit I have right now. I pray for a loving heart again, a spirit full of joy and peace, a forgiving heart and mind. Lord, I want You everyday. You know how much I want to live in Your presence. Despite the sins I committed, You know how much I want to repent and long for Your forgiveness again. 

Teach and help me to forgive others too. Help me to let go of the unnecessary things in my life. Teach my heart Lord. I long for You this afternoon and I need You.

Thank You Lord, I know You're listening. In faith, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

LIVING LIFE HAPPY

Too many people are dragging through life  God created us to enjoy life  We’re supposed to be the happiest people on earth  Everywhere we go we should brighten up the place  That’s the impact we should have on others - our joy should overflow on to them  Life is too short to live negative, grouchy and grumpy  Jesus came to give us life abundant  Some people never smile  Joy should be displayed  We should be kind and friendly  Some people need to get their joy back  You’re not excited about your future  You’re not enjoying the people God brought into your life  That’s not only robbing you of joy but also those around you as well  Decide not to live another day grumpy and discouraged  I will live my life happy  God has given you your life to enjoy  You have everything you need to be happy  You may not be in the home you want but you can enjoy the home you have  If you don’t learn to be happy where you are you’ll never get to where you want to go  It’s good to want to increase but don’t let those goals frustrate you  Stay in faith and go out each day doing your best with a smile on your face  Too many people are at war on the inside  They don’t like their lives  They don’t like their possessions or the people in their lives  Psalm 118:24 this is the day that the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it  It’s easy to come up with excuses to delay your happiness  As soon as…then I’ll be happy  Put your foot down and decide to be happy right now  As children we start off happy and enthusiastic  Children quickly recover from setbacks  They don’t hold grudges  They don’t worry about their futures  They enjoy the simple things in life  When Alexandra was a baby she would jump up and down when she saw Pastor Joel  She didn’t need to be going to Disneyland to be happy  She was happy just to be alive, to start a new day  We should never forget how to celebrate each day  As we age we can let life drag us down  When this day is gone you’ll never get it back  If you live grumpy you’ve wasted a day  Some people have wasted years being unhappy  They’ve been mistreated…their not getting what they want as quickly as they want it  Happiness is a choice  You can choose to live this day happy  Or you can choose to be irritable  It’s not dependent on your circumstances; it’s dependent on your choices  A man is undergoing chemotherapy right now but you’d never know from his positive attitude  Everyday he asks himself if he wants to be happy or depressed, and he chooses happiness  Some days we won’t feel like being bothered  Don’t get into agreement with negative thoughts  That would be choosing to have a lousy day  You decide what kind of day you will have  (don’t wait and see)  Declare this is going to be a great day  Something good is going to happen to me today  Psalm 30:5 joy comes in the morning  Everyday God sends you joy  Receive the gift of joy that God sent you  Father thank You for another beautiful day  People may have reasons for their unhappiness  They are unhappy because they are choosing to be unhappy  Nothing can take your joy - you have to give it away  Too many people are allowing someone else to frustrate them  You may have people in your life that aggravate you  Say no more; I will not give away my joy  This day is a gift from God and I will not waste it  I am responsible for my own happiness  There are no valid excuses to live your life sour  Most of the time we have what we need in order to be happy  You may not like your job but if you lost it and were out of work for months you would probably love to get that same job back  If you lost your health you would love to get it back  Keep the right perspective  We all have something to be happy about  A couple always complained about their house until they almost lost it to foreclosure. Now they love it  Don’t complain about cleaning that house; be happy you have a house and the health to clean it  There are very few things that we “have” to do  We get to, not have to  So much of our happiness is based on our perspective  2 construction workers. One complaining about tedious work. The other excited to be building a skyscraper  Give whatever you do your best, knowing you’re making the world a better place  Years ago a man was on a train and met a well-to-do couple  The lady complained the whole time  She made everybody miserable  The man engaged the husband in conversation  The husband said my wife is in manufacturing  She manufactures unhappiness everywhere she goes  Matthew 12:35 The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. (Amplified)  It’s not our circumstances that cause unhappiness; it’s our perspective  You can put a happy positive person in bad circumstances and they’ll still be happy. We develop wrong mindsets that prevent happiness. We condition our mind about when we can enjoy life and when we must endure life. Joel writes his sermons on Thursdays. For a while he dreaded Thursdays. He decided he needed to enjoy Thursdays. There are more heart attacks on Mondays than any other day. Happiness increases 10% on Fridays. Let everyday be Friday. Give yourself permission to be happy everyday. If you’ll have the right mindset you can be happy every day. The scripture doesn’t say Friday is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. TGIM Thank God It’s Monday. I know this is going to be a great day. Every day can be a Friday. Yes some days can be more difficult than others but we can still decide to be happy. I’m excited about my family, my health, my opportunities, etc. Zippity Doo Dah Zippity Ay My oh my What a wonderful day. Plenty of sunshine Comin’ my way. Zippity Doo Dah Zippity Ay.
